Windows 10 Upgrade will arrive automatically via Windows Update July 29th 2015. To obtain this Windows 10 upgrade / update you must reserve your copy with Microsoft through the Windows 10 upgrade icon in the desktop notification area. This update applies to all Windows 7 and 8 computers. When this update is being installed it is very important that the machine power is left on during the installation, and that it is not interrupted. This upgrade may affect Hardware Devices such as Printers, Scanners, Video, Sound, Input Devices. It also may affect programs, applications and software such as Microsoft Office, Antivirus, Adobe, Outlook or Quickbooks. There is no guarantee from Tri County Technical Services or Microsoft that everything will work flawlessly, as there are possible issues with every operating system upgrade.
Our advice is to make sure you have a solid backup either thru online services such as Mozy or Carbonite, or an external hard drive backup in case of any data loss or corruption. Also check the manufacturers’ website to ensure any important software or hardware is supported by Windows 10 and completely up to date.
